10 things you should know about Broadway (from a novice show-goer):

1) Elphaba is a strange name, but must mean "amazing voice" in some language.

2) Bruce Vilanch is hilarious in drag.

3) Hairspray is somewhat disappointing when you realize Zac Efron isn't really Link.

4) Defying Gravity will make you cry. Or at least give you tingling arm hairs.

5) And The Circle of Life moves us all.

6) It's for people who love singing and dancing and laughing and men in tight pants.

7) The Lion King's set and costume designer deserves a raise. Or at least a gigantic bonus check.

8) We can't all come and go by bubble.

9) The Book of Mormon is funny. Or so I've heard.

10) No photography or recording devices shall be used before or during performances. However, illegal self portraits are allowed.
